Some Features with regard to Romanian Agriculture during the Transition Period

Abstract

Agriculture is fundamental for the economy and the environment of the European Union. Eastern European countries, mostly based on agriculture and resource-intensive industry, suffered important structural changes after their integration in the European Union, with serious impacts of agriculture. In this context, this article, analyzes the agricultural sector in Romania in European context in order to make some recommendations to ensure sustainability on the long-run and efficient development on the short-run.
